I was dreaming. I had to be. But it felt pretty real.

“Want to see the winemaker’s private quarters?” Lincoln asked. “No pressure. I don’t want to rush you.”

I almost cut off the end of his sentence with my enthusiastic “yes, please!”

He grinned at me. “So I’m not the only one feeling this?”

I shook my head. “I don’t know what it is, but I feel like I’ve known you forever.”

I feel like I’ve loved you forever, my mind silently added. And it was so sudden, so ridiculous—but at the same time, I knew it was true.

“Come on, gorgeous,” he said, and I followed him to an adorable cottage towards the back of the property, all stucco and tile roof.

“Is this where you live?” I asked.

“It’s where I sleep,” he said. “I don’t spend a lot of time here.”

He unlocked the heavy wood door and swung it open, inviting me to go in first. I found myself in a bright, open-concept room. The heavy structural beams matched the wood of the door, and I could see a comfortable living area and a surprisingly well-appointed kitchen.

“Glass of wine?” he asked with a wink.

“How can I say no?” I replied, grinning. “Something tells me you have some excellent bottles stored around here somehow.”

“I’ll be right back,” he said, and opened a door in the kitchen that lead downstairs. I resisted the urge to peek down there and see what a vintner’s wine cellar looked like.

I was hoping to spend a lot more time at Lincoln’s house, so I might get a look later.

Lincoln came back up the stairs with a dusty bottle that I suspected might be older than me. “It feels like a special occasion,” he said.

He set the bottle down and approached me with purpose as I leaned against the counter. His eyes locked with mine and all I could do was watch, as if in slow motion, as he got closer to me. Finally, he was so close our lips were nearly brushing. He put one hand on my hip and the other on my cheek, urging me forward to close the tiny space between us.

His lips were soft and warm and perfect as they pressed against mine. He stroked my hip with his thumb and traced the seam of my lips with his tongue. I gasped at the duelling sensations and he needed no more invitation to deepen the kiss.

He pressed against me and I could feel his hardening length even through the layers of clothes between us. And then, suddenly, I was in the air as he lifted me onto the counter. I opened my legs, and he stepped between, never breaking the kiss between us. He ground himself against me, hitting me in just the right spot.

He broke the kiss for a moment, but not the intense eye contact.

“Is this ok?” he asked.

“Perfect,” I whispered back.

Then his mouth was back on mine, his hand in my hair, controlling the kiss. I’d never thought of myself as submissive, but all I wanted to do in that moment was follow his lead and give him anything he asked for.
